A surprise getaway to Jamaica

QUESTION:


Good morning,

I am trying to plan a surprise getaway for my me and my wife for our 10 year anniversary (June 15, 2011). I came across your name (Wellesley Gayle) on the website called frommers.com.

You were speaking on the resorts in Jamaica. I haven't decided on Jamaica because we've been to Montego Bay a few years ago 1999 or 2000.

My wife's interest is dancing, site-seeing, fine-dining, shopping and relaxation. My interest is adventure and making my wife happy.

The problem I'm having in finding a destination is that I want to stay at a 5-star all-inclusive resort that has many activities and an "exciting" nightlife (sort of like Las Vegas).

The adds about Hedonism sounds good to me however I hear the resort is not 5-star and my wife is not keen on watching people walking around naked all day (although I'm hoping to try going naked on a private beach with her).

With that said, what would be your recommendation.

Hey Byron,

That's a tough one. I've lived all my life here, but I can only speak about the hotels I've been and most of which are not five stars.

I have some wonderful friends and fans who have been to Jamaica many times (5, 10, 15 and even 20 times)who, honestly, may be able to provide some good recommendations, not only on the question, but who might also have some great tips on your Jamaican vacation as well.
