Can I eat lobster at this time of year in Jamaica?

QUESTION:
I am living in Jamaica and it is now October, can lobster be eaten this time of year?
ANSWER: October 22, 2010 by Wellesley
Absolutely! With the exception of the closed season, you can have lobster whenever you wish.
This closed season is between April 1 and June 30 each year, where catching lobsters is prohibited. For persons who have declared frozen lobster or lobster products by March 31st, they are allowed to use it up until the 21st of April.
No lobster or lobster products should be in your possession beyond that date - fresh, frozen or otherwise.
As per the Fishing Industry Act of 1975 (Section 19), persons are prohibited from catching, buying or selling of fresh, landed lobsters.
So, there you have the answer, it's October so enjoy your favourite Jamaican-styled lobster.
