Can I eat lobster at this time of year in Jamaica?

QUESTION:I am living in Jamaica and it is now October, can lobster be eaten this time of year?
ANSWER: October 22, 2010 by Wellesley
Absolutely! The only time I think it gets iffy is during the so called 'closed season' each year.
This is between April1 and June 30 each year. And even then, the onus is more on the supplier or seller it seems.
As per the Fishing Industry Act of 1975 (Section 19), persons are prohibited from catching, buying or selling of fresh, landed lobsters.
So, there you have the answer, it's October so enjoy your favourite Jamaican-styled lobster.
