concerts in Jamaica in August & officiant for wedding vow

QUESTION:

Hi. I am hoping to have a 10 yr. renewal of vows with my husband next summer and am celebrating a significant birthday in august. I looooove Jamaica and would like to share your beautiful destination with the love of my life.

Two questions............is there anybody that you might recommend for a low key, private ceremony on the beach in Negril? Secondly, are there any concerts happening then?

Has Reggae Sunsplash ceased?

Hi Sharon,

Congrats on your 10th anniversary! And thanks for choosing Jamaica!

First things first, I would recommend my friend Michelle to you any day. She is based in Ocho Rios, but might be open to do the ceremony in Negril. If not, she could recommend someone she is familiar with in that area.

Regarding the activities, well July - August is arguably the most active and exciting time for music and culture in Jamaica! Lots happen during these times!

There is the Seville Emancipation Jubilee, ATI Weekend in Negril, Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show, Breadfruit Festival, Little Ochie Seafood Carnival, Portland Jerk Festival, The Independence and Emancipation celebrations, and of course, Reggae Sumfest.

(BTW, August is also my birth month :-))

Yes, Reggae Sunsplash is no longer around, but Reggae Sumfest is (I would say) replaced it.

It's also held in Montego Bay at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Center. So no dull moment my friend :-)
