About Franklyn D Resort in Jamaica
The Franklyn D Resort & Spa is Jamaica's first all-suite, all-inclusive resort for families. Guests vacation in an intimate, private setting similar to that of an elegant Jamaican home.
The friendly, caring, attentive staff ensures that everything is taken care of so that you and your children can relax and enjoy a memorable, carefree vacation.
Located in Runaway Bay, these 78 spacious suites are surrounded by lush, tropical gardens and everyone is just steps form the Caribbean Sea.
This all-inclusive holiday features all meals from a choice of four restaurants, open bar serving all premium bar drinks, beer and wine, live entertainment, day and night tennis, basketball, snorkeling, kayaking, a games room, Kiddies Centre, playgrounds including a Heely Track and a computer centre.
Free WiFi Internet access is available anywhere on the property and there are LAN connections in every suite.
The suites at Franklyn D Resort & Spa are beautifully decorated with a tropical flair. Each features a master bedroom with either a king size bed or twin beds and bathroom ensuite.
The second and third bedrooms have twin beds and can be fitted with rollaways or cribs as required. Each suite has a separate living room and dining area, a refrigerator and service area, satellite TV, balcony or garden terrace.
To further ensure the comfort of its guests, the Resort has also added IPOD Docking stations, safes, DVD players and Microwaves in each suite.
FDR’s Vacation Nanny service is without parallel. At arrival each family is assigned its own Vacation Nanny, professionally trained in child care, CPR and housekeeping. She is the family’s Vacation Assistant and should you wish, she will care for and entertain your children, keep your suite clean and tidy and attend to all the arrangements for activities and excursions that will ensure a great holiday for parents as well as kids.
The Yellow Bird Kids Club is the center for a fully supervised range of activities for children-including a kiddies disco, outdoor arts and crafts center, toddlers’ play room, computer games and educational videos. Supervisors organize such activities as fashion shows, picnics, treasure hunts and theme parties to keep children busy and entertained.
Supervised Teens programming caters to their special fancies: rafting and tubing excursions, state-of-the-art computer games, dance lessons and introduction to Jamaican music, basketball game and beach volleyball – and much more.
Parents (and Grandparents!) will love the property too. While children are immersing themselves in the wonders of the island, parents may stroll the mile of white sand beach next door, relax in the Jacuzzi, play tennis, volleyball, go snorkeling, kayaking or sailing (equipment and instruction provided).
Runaway Bay Golf Club is just across the road for golf enthusiasts. Work out in the open-air gym equipped with treadmills, stationary bicycles, bench presses, weights and more. After supper enjoy the nightly entertainment on the boardwalk or sing along with the piano man at the Main Bar.
Franklyn D Resort & Spa has set up LAN access in all suites for the convenience of guests who need to keep in touch through the internet. Additionally Free WiFi access is available everywhere on the property from a beachside hammock to the pool deck.
A fully equipped computer centre where guests can surf the net, is open from early morning until late into the evening. Guests may dine at the Overproof Jamaican Restaurant, The Verandah International Restaurant; The Pier, adults only Italian restaurant or at the Sea Cotton Tree Grill.
All meals are a pleasure as Chef offers a bountiful mixture of Jamaican, International and Italian fare.
Fresh papaya, mangoes in season, colourful gardens salads, succulent steaks, a variety of seafood, pasta dishes, pastries and indigenous Jamaican dishes are on the bill of fare.
The Main Bar Piano Lounge is a great meeting place for families to exchange stories on the day’s activities, check their email, or play a game of Scrabble and enjoy a drink from a choice of top shelf liquors, beer or wine. Live nightly entertainment on the Boardwalk featuring Jamaican folk dances, limbo dancers and fire-eaters, bands and singers keep guests entertained well into the evening.
Franklyn D’s Sea Grape Spa offers distinctive spa treatments including ancient Asian and European techniques, combined with natural Jamaican spices, fruits and minerals. This exotic spa treatment by the Caribbean Sea will be a most memorable and truly once in a lifetime experience.
The Tour Desk offers many opportunities for discovery of Jamaican cultural and historic sites on excursions into the nearby countryside. Guests may also wish to rafting, deep sea fishing, tubing, golfing or horseback riding.
Visits to the Cranbrook Flower Forest, world famous Dunn’s River Falls, Dolphin Cove or Green Grotto Caves are easily arranged. Franklyn D. Resort & Spa can easily accommodate your organization’s corporate retreat, seminar, or conference for up to 100 participants.
Comfortable, air conditioned, flexible meeting rooms, a computer and business center provide convenient environments for all activities. The Conference Coordinator will assist with planning your event and implementing it; from accessing required equipment to catering and menus.
