Going to Jamaica for the first time in January - any suggestions?

QUESTION:

Heh, I am going to going to Jamaica for the first time in January. Getting there, I want to know as much as I can before going for a golf trip in Jan 2012 with my husband.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciate. There is a lot of time to January but since this most likely is once a life time trip better make the most of it.
