Jamaica touched my heart

by Deanna
(OH)

Reggae Chick

Reggae Chick

I've been there 3 times now, and miss it so much.

2001 stayed a week at Sunset Beach Resort
2003 port from our honeymoon cruise
2006 stayed a week at the same resort...

Since my first visit I have truly felt drawn to the music, people, the culture and definitely island.

I can't get enough of the music, old artists and new. Each day I contemplate when I will return or even move there.

I pray that your struggles in Kingston calm down and that Jamaica gets back to that "no problem mon" mentality everywhere.

See you inna di lights - "See you tomorrow"

Visiting next year!
by: Ashley

I'm am so excited to visit Jamaica next year! I want to go so badly for so long. I am turning 21 along with my cousin Jess and we are going to visit!

I can't wait to experience the culture! I love the Caribbean and someday I wish to live on an island, possibly Jamaica..

Buffalo Soldier
by: Deanna

It's unfortunate that many don't know the REAL reasons to fight. All the Buffalo Soldiers that paved the way would be sad, not just Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley. Life is supposed to be about Love, Peace and Freedom.

"There was a buffalo soldier in the heart of America. Stolen from Africa, brought to America.
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival. ...
Driven from the mainland to the heart of the Caribbean. ...Troddin' through San Juan in the arms of America. Troddin' through Jamaica, a buffalo soldier"

Troubled Times
by: Charley

We have the same problem being so far away in the UK, Our first visit was in March 06 since then there is not a day goes by we do not talk about Jamaica, old friends places we have not visited and would love to walk down; I guess Kingston Town will have to be put on hold for now! God's willing things will calm down and return to the way it should be. We know things are hard in places but when people start loosing their lives for?

What would brother Bob make of this ! this will not deter us from coming home to the place we love.

That's very warm; thank you so much for the feedback Deanna.

Yes, Sunset Beach Resort is really nice, I was lucky to work there as well.

Looking forward to welcoming you here soon.
