On a recent visit to Montego Bay, I stayed with friends and requested that I have the pleasure of eating ONLY typical Jamaican meals.
Well, this was our breakfast the 1st day -Ackee and saltfish, roasted breadfruit, gizzarda(sweet pastries made from coconut), and fried dumplings!
I was going to take a picture of the Ackee but before I knew it it was gone!!!!!
And the coconut for the gizzarda? From a coconut tree right outside the kitchen door! The bread fruit and ackee? Also from my friend's backyard. To compliment all we had lemongrass tea from , yes, a lemongrass bush outside in the front yard. Eating local, in a lovely setting, a truly luscious scrumptious meal!
