Miss Jamaicas

Just a minor correction.

Neither Cindy Breakspeare nor Sandra Cunningham were crowned or wore the title Miss Jamaica (World).

Cindy was invited to London by the Morleys (having won Miss Universe Bikini in London) to compete in Miss World as Jamaica's representative, coming out of the Spartan stable.

In a similar fashion, Spartan sent Sandra -- who also won Miss Jamaica Bikini, like Cindy -- the following year but Kong withdrew because of the Jamaican government opposition to South Africa's apartheid and the presence of a white South African in the competition.

The first Miss Jamaica (World) was, in fact, Joan McDonald in 1978 when Spartan staged the competition for the first time.
