Contest Entry #018 - Refreshing Jelly Coconut
It’s a hot summer day here in Jamaica!
I’m on a bus trip coming back to Portland from Kingston. The sun has everyone in the bus sweating and wishing a cool breeze would come through the window busses windows.
Luckily for all of us, driver pulls the bus over right next to a coconut stand at the request of a passenger.
Most everyone got off the bus and got a nice hydrating natural coconut water to drink. Just stick a straw down into the coconut and drink! After drinking the refreshing water, you can have him cut the coconut wider open with a machete so you can get to the “jelly” of the coconut to eat.
After that much needed break from doing road, everyone got back on the bus and we continued on our journey. I enjoy the flexibility of the Jamaican people, especially when it comes to public transportation.
