Don't waste time, go to salt river
by: Anonymous

I visited the falls in December after hearing from friends and reading these exact comments. \I would never tell anyone or else they have no problem with disappointment. The drive is long, bumpy, curvy and dark in some places, with very little directions to the falls. two and a half hours from mid-Kingston. If no locals are on the road you are guaranteed to get lost(few signs). The parking is mediocre and plagued by money seeking locals. The small hike brings you to a dirt coloured river, no 'scenery' or appeal to around. From there you cannot see the dam, so you need to be able to take swim or willing to do a somewhat steep and slippery hike (I did the hike since the water was freezing). I knew it was a dam so why i did expect more appeal. There is also no food access for miles. The water was cooling at least.

GEM of ST. Thomas
by: Anonymous

I visited the Falls with my family in February 2016. I had the greatest time. I walked up to the level of the falls using the stairs and pathway to the left.

The water is crystal clear, cold but tolerable.

Please ask for Christopher the tour guide. He helped me to navigate the river and took me on alternate footpath to get back to ground level.

You need a four wheel drive to drive closer to park closer to the park but walking is just as fun.

Make sure to visit, you will be happy you did.

Reggae Falls
by: Jeff K.

Sometimes I wonder if there is another place more beautiful than Jamaica. I certainly agree with this place being referred to as "God's Garden". Reggae Falls is much nearer to Morant Bay than is suggested. It is somewhere between say 9 or 10 miles. Make this a "must see" on your itinerary, when you visit. You will not regret it. St Thomas has beautiful spots too, that can be compared to other great places around the country.
