We've been to Jamaica 5 times, going for 6 this December! The thing we most enjoy about Jamaica is the warm and friendly people. We've always been welcomed by everyone we meet. Not just the folks who are paid to be nice to you at the resorts. We have spent quite a bit of time off of the
resort properties and in the communities as well.
I came across this beautiful website through their Facebook page and I so glad that I did! Wellesley provides a wealth of info for those addicted to Jamrock and noobs too. I have spent the last few days going over it with a fine tooth comb and everytime that I think I've covered all the material, I come across a few more Jamaican tidbits. Thanks for sharing Wellesley!
Some of my favorite things about Jamaica are:
(Not necessarily in this order)
Jerk ChickenTing
Redstripe
Y.S. Falls
Rick's Cafe
Patios
Negril
The beachesFresh fruit
Horseback riding
Ziplining
SnorkelingCatamarans
I could go on forever but you get the idea.
Negril has been our favorite town so far but we still have a lot to see. I love the contrast of 7 mile beach and the cliffs on the west end.
Things move slower in Negril and that is perfect for us. Laid back is where its at!
Mobay is more of a party town which was a blast too. The entertainment team at Sandals Mobay are some of the best we've met throughout our stays in the Caribbean. Big ups to Aj, Swain, Ferrario and Maria!
We have been to many other Caribbean Island nations including St. Thomas, St John, St Kitts, St. Lucia, Roatan Honduras, Virgin Gorda.....etc. etc. but we always end up
coming back to Jamaica.
