Contest Entry#1: Rooster's Bar on Spurr Tree Hill.
We stumbled across this gem of a rest spot while taking a road trip from Negril to Ochi - trying to visit as many parishes as we could in one day - and without a set agenda.
After going through Bamboo River, we drove through pouring rain. We decided to stop and take some pictures in Spurr Tree Hill of the mountains and valleys - it was absolutely stunning.
A very interesting man came over and invited us in to have a drink and chat. He told us that his name was Rooster and this was his spot. Over rum and laughs we enjoyed checking out his interesting paintings and signs and wares. He sold steering wheel covers, shades for the car windows, cock soup mix, cigarettes, rum, and quite an assortment of other wares.
We hadn't planned on staying long but his lively music and personality kept us there for a likkle while.
We will return if we are by that way and we encourage you too!
