schools near negril -contact information to donate school supplies

QUESTION:

Hi there! I somehow found your Facebook page by researching schools in Jamaica.

We are coming to negril jan 1-6 and would like to donate school supplies to a school. I have a good idea of what to bring but can't seem to get in contact with a school via email.

Do you know of any particular school we could visit?

We are staying at RIU Palace paradise bay so hoping to visit not too far away. Will school even be in session?

How nice Amy! Thanks for taking the initiative to donate school supplies to our children. I should be able to get a list of school contacts so let me work on that Amy.

January 1 is new years' day but I think school should be in session the following day. I will also check on that for you ok.

Update: 11/7/2013:

Here is an update Amy.

I checked with the Ministry Of Education in Jamaica and they indicated that school will actually reopen on January 6, 2014 after the 2013 year end holidays.

That however, appears to be the same day you are leaving :-(.

Unless your flight is later in the day then it might be tight but you will have to assess the situation. Can you stay a little longer :-)

Here however are a list of the schools (all age, primary and high schools)) in the general Westmoreland (including Negril) area for consideration.

The choice is yours!

I am including:


  • the government issued email addresses and
  • the contact person, usually the principal.


Please note that I actually have the complete list, including the full school address and phone number but we had to exclude some fields as it was too large for this page.

Note also that all the email addresses end with a @moe.gov.jm, just in case they are not showing completely.
