The design for the Bruckins outfit

by Sabrina
(Montego Bay)

QUESTION:.

Hey! I would like to know the design for the outfit for the traditional Jamaican bruckins dance.

I have the task of sewing them for some college students who were given the dance to do.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sabrina,

I suspect you'll need to check with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) or the National Library of Jamaica.

One of those two agencies (if not both) should know.

The contact number for The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission is:

3 Phoenix Avenue
Kingston 10
Jamaica W.I.

Tel: (876) 926-5726
Fax: (876) 929-2362

Email: library@jcdc.org.jm

The contact for the National Library for Jamaica is:

12 East Street,
Kingston,Jamaica

Tel: (876) 967-1526,
Email: nlj@infochan.com, nljresearch@cwjamaica.com

Stay in touch.
