The Jamainian is returning to Jamaica!

Hey there everyone.. Just a few words to describe my experiences in Jamaica (Negril). I have been there six times and I am returning in April for my 7th vacation in Negril! I am in love with Negril, seriously.

The people, beach, cliffs, food, weather, and sunsets are spectacular. I feel so safe there and I bring my little girl there who is 8 now. I love the Jamaican culture, crafts, drinks (dirty bananas) and of course the amazing food (beef and cheese pattys for me).

The "Capital of Casual" (Negril) is breathtaking and there are so many hidden gems along the amazing 7 mile beach. I recommend Jamaica to all of my Canadian friends, and anyone else who will listen, because once you go, you know! One Love Peeps!

Nice to hear you are taking your seventh (7th) trip this April! And (again) in Negril!
Oh boy, I think I need to have a special forum for my Jamaican peeps who have been here more than five (5) times! Let me think about that one…

You didn’t tell me if you had some ‘ackee and salfish’, or the fried-roasted breadfruit, or the fried fish and bammy though? Still waiting to hear OK :-)

And on yes, please remember to take lots of pictures! I (and I’m sure many of my other ardent peeps) will be waiting so see them!

And by the way, the number 7 means perfection and fulfillment, so go for it my friend.

I believe everyone has a certain fear when leaving the comforts of your own home and travelling to another country. It's a normal feeling because the "unknown" is scary..

Once I arrived in Negril, it was like I was home. Such a small little town (like mine) and the people are so kind and appreciative of anything you give them.. I bring an extra suitcase every year filled with shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc etc...

If I can make a few locals happy for a few bucks, then so be it, and I am teaching my daughter to be kind & compassionate to the less fortunate.. If you want to get away, somewhere quaint, hot,relaxing or party, then NEGRIL is the spot....and p.s Wellesley, I have not tried some of the foods you listed..

I am more into the pattys, I love your fruits (fresh coconut and mango), plaintain is okay, and I tried brown stewed chicken (it was too hot for me,lol).. For me it's a Red Stripe Light and a Beef and Cheese patty (doesn't take much to please this Jamainian gal) Jamainian means part Jamaican and part Canadian..One Love...
