The PHILLPOTTS family (Spanish Town Area)
by Kim Tinsley
(Arkansas, USA)
I am working on my family tree.
My father, John Phillpotts, was born Jamaica in 1923, he is the son of Chester and Lena Phillpotts, I believe from the Spanish town area.
I think he left Jamaica in the early 1950's. Some of his siblings names are: Helen, Joshua, Ebenezer, Evelyn, Joshua, Ruth & Naomi (the twins), and Alan.
I think perhaps Alan and his son, Denis, are the only immediate family still on the island. So my search may only turn up cousins, which would also be fine.
Can anyone provide any leads on finding family information, either first hand from relatives, friends, or via the internet.
I'd be happy to also have copies of any kind of family documents, so if someone knows where I should look, please include that information.
As a side note, I recall my dad mentioning "Watson". I do not know if that is a first or last name of a relative.
Also, I think he mentioned his dad growing bananas and they called the place 'Ferndeen'. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
Please reply to this webpage.
Thanks!
Kim (Phillpotts) Tinsley
