The Riddim Twins - SLY Dunbar and ROBBIE Shakespeare
by Gary
(London, England)
Had to nominate the two, because you can't have one without the other.
For me, the legendary 'twins' are the greatest session musicians in history.
I've been a fan of theirs since the mid-seventies when I was living in Jamdown. And 35 years later, they are still going strong.
If
Bob Marley brought
Reggae to the world, the twins pushed it up a notch. They are innovators and not afraid to incorporate different forms of music and play it in their own unique style. They can play anything and have played with everyone.
For a small country, Jamaica has punched way above its weight and has had an amazing influence on
history, on politics, on
sports, on entertainment, on religion and the
Arts.
