"Tremendous" Upcoming Jamaican Artiste

by Rashida Bryan
(Jamaica)

Born December 8, 1989, Christopher Sterling, aka "Tremendous" is a 6ft 2 inches, tall ambitious young upcoming Jamaican artiste.

He is originally from Spanish Town, St. Catherine but now resides in Charlemont, St. Catherine.

It was at age thirteen he realised that he had the ability to DJ. His friends in high school gave him the name Tremendous. He was always beating the desks in class and the teachers thought he was a disruptive student, but it was the music in him.

In high school he was involved in sports, specifically football. While playing in the D'Cup Football league for Dinthill Technical High School he had a foot injury. He decided to leave football because of the injury (this injury still haunts him up to this day) and pursue his dream of becoming an artiste.

Although he loved Dj'ing, he still thought that having an education was important and so sat six CXC CSEC subjects and passed five. He is currently pursuing a Cisco Course at Stony Hill HEART Academy.

After completing the course he hopes to land a job and pursue his dream of becoming a recognised recording artiste singing part-time, eventually singing fulltime. He also wants to become an entrepreneur.

Tremendous composes his own songs. He also sings the songs he composes and does not do any cover version. But if the fans request a cover version he will not hesitate to please his fans.

He has performed at Ewarton Jerk Festival, Charlemont High School Mini Miss Concert, and Stony Hill Entrap Day Concert.

His current songs are:
• Red Pants, White Boot
• Cyaan Stop Wi
• Wine Fimmi Girl
• Vendous Di Gallis
• Mission Accomplish
• And Under the Tree(soon to be released)

These songs can be found on Youtube.com by searching for Tremendous and V3ndous and on reverbnation.com by searching for Tremendous.

He is motivated by Bob Marley and Marcus Garvey. He believes in rastafarism and practices the faith somewhat. His favourite colours are purple, orange and black.

When asks what is his relationship status he willingly gave a negative answer. He has not found that special someone as yet.

He hopes to collaborate with Beenie Man, Movado, Sizzla, Tommy Lee and Vybz Cartel. These are artistes that he admires. For shows or concerts he can be contacted by facebook.com/vendosditremendous, e-mail: sookydan@yahoo.com or by cellular: 1-876-297-5453.
