My special, special Island in the sun, Jamaica
So many years since I left you,
the sunshine, the rain fall, the dew and the beautiful sight of the dawning and the setting of the bright, colourful amazing sun, that hovers on the horizon
touching every life form existing in its Uniqueness
molded and created by the hand of God
on the beautiful exquisite Island of Jamaica
My special, special Island in the sun, I left you
so long ago, a child without the knowledge of your unique beauty, your landscapes, greenery, vibrancy of life, hospitality and great splendour, I grew away from you
in a foreign land, cried me a river of tears
For the emptiness of leaving my family, friends
my beautiful Island, my playground in the sun
I reach out to you with outstretched arms to embrace you,
smell your fragrance of nature and humanity
unique, exquisite Jamaica, my great experience
of remembering the love and care free life
I enjoyed as a child
Celebrating 50 years of freedom and independence
to grow, to develop a forward thinking nation
in preparation for building and sustaining a
Greater JAMAICA for the future.
