This is Clinton, and what a joyful man to meet and what tasty aromas emanating from his Jerk chicken drum!

I was walking the West End Road in Negril in July, my destination was to find Rick’s Cafe again, after 23 years, to see if it looked the same.

Well, it was unrecognizable to me, so much so that I questioned my own memory??? Had I even been here before? It turns out it was completely devastated in a major hurricane some years ago and had been totally rebuilt.

Rick's is a great destination venue on the cliffs with a big, beautiful bar and restaurant overlooking the clear turquoise cove waters.
Cliff divers delight the spectators and a few brave tourists try the high dive themselves or jump in from various heights on the rocks. It’s pretty spectacular.

BUT my choice that evening was to leave and keep on walking. Instantly the aromas beckoned me from across the street to this lovely octogenarian man and his amazing Jerk chicken and a cold Red Stripe beer! ….so simple...aaaah... heaven... Jamaica.
