Surprise! A Baby Turtle In My BackYard

The strangest thing happened today my friend! I found a baby turtle in my backyard!

Yes, no joke - I 'discovered' (let me say it like Christopher Columbus) it in my backyard.

I had just removed a down branch from my neighbour's coconut tree (It actually fell on my side of the fence), broke it up, discarded to the extreme back of the yard, and was on my way towards the house when I noticed the 'strange' object forcing itself between the holes in the fence - but apparently stuck!



But this is the strange part, that neighbour (Sandra) have never even seen a turtle in reality! She was startled!

Despite the fact that the area is cool (there is a mango tree there) water does not settle there, PLUS they have some fierce Bullmastif dogs that, if not had killed it, would have certainly alerted the community that we have an 'intruder'.

And what about the other neighbour? She never had turtles either.

So where did that beauty came from? I certainly don't think it is from Santa Claus, so your guess is as good as mine.

For now though, I am considering her my Christmas gift! (Read my Christmas greeting to my fans here.

I've already got her in some water in a crate and will try my best to care for her. I'm going to need some help though - I'm not very good with pets; just ask my girls about the last set of birds :-).
