Watch Mobay's Heavenly Sunsets!

Live the life of the rich and famous and hop aboard a luxury catamaran in the northern tip of the island for a three-hour cruise at the best time of day: sunset.

This is the perfect way to soak up the relaxed island vibes and unwind after a day of exploring all that Montego Bay has to offer.

Sail the coastline to the sound of reggae music while enjoying a smooth Montecristo Double Edmundo and a tropical cocktail at the open bar, before being set down at one of Jamaica’s most famous bars, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville.

Pack your swimsuit and a towel because the water is still amazingly warm even in the evening. This way you can slip and slide down Margaritaville’s 120-ft water slide into the serene waters of Montego Bay.

Explore Haunted Rose Hall

Discover Jamaica’s spooky history and meet one of the country’s most famous ghosts: The white witch Annie Palmer at Rose Hall Great House. Legend has it that the witch’s black magic led to the deaths of each of her three husbands and that the screams of the slaves she tortured still echo off the walls of the impressive Georgian mansion.

Wander the halls of the house by candlelight and hear scary ghost stories and learn about Annie’s ghoulish reputation. Finish your tour with a stop at Annie’s Pub and enjoy sipping on a Witch’s Brew, which is recommended to steady your nerves.

Cliff Jumping At Rick's Cafe

cliff jumping negril

Not for the faint of heart, cliff jumping is an exciting way to end your day in Jamaica. One of the best places to cliff jump in the country is the world-famous Rick’s Cafe. The 2-acre property is located on top of a 35-foot cliff with a sheer drop into the turquoise waters of Negril.

There are rooms available above the bar if you want to enjoy some traditional Jamaican food. Otherwise, get to the bar early in the evening if you plan on drinking and dancing the night away because Rick’s Cafe is one of the busiest bars on the island and fills up fast.

Rick’s Cafe is also a great place to listen to local live bands and check out the spectacular Jamaican sunset.

Swim in a Bioluminescent Lagoon at Glistening Waters

Swim in a Bioluminescent Lagoon at Glistening Waters

One of only five glowing bays in the world, the bioluminescent lagoon at Glistening Waters, is definitely a must-see to add to your bucket list. This magical place is found on the north coast of Jamaica and is the best and brightest of any bioluminescent wonders on the planet.

The glow is caused by small microorganisms called dinoflagellates that emit an otherworldly light when they are disturbed. There are boat tours that frequently stop to view the tiny creatures, but the best way to experience the lagoon is up-close-and-personal with a quick dip. The water in the lagoon is only 3-4 feet deep, and tour companies are happy to provide life jackets for visitors who need them.

Avoid booking your tour on rainy nights or during the full moon, as it can ruin the effect. You are even allowed to take along an empty bottle to fill up with water as the creatures continue to glow for a couple of hours after the tour is over.

Go Bar Hopping On The Hip Strip!

evenings in jamaica - the hip strip

For anyone who loves to drink and dance the night away, Jimmy Cliff's Hip Strip in Montego Bay is a must-see attraction to add to your vacation plans. Jam-packed with the hippest bars and restaurants and close to some of the island’s spectacular beaches, the Hip Strip is the ideal way to experience Jamaica’s vibrant nightlife.

There are three bars that stand out from the rest in terms of popularity and atmosphere. Margaritaville is a casual venue for sipping umbrella-laden cocktails and bumping shoulders with off-duty celebrities.

Blue Beat Ultra Lounge offers a more laid-back vibe with a chic Jazz and martini bar. They also have frequent theme nights, as well as stand-up comedy and local live bands.

Finally, Pier 1 is a fun and friendly open-air bar with cheap drinks and some of the best seafood on the island. Pier 1 also hosts a range of events, including Dancehall Queen and Reggae Sumfest.

Check Kingston's Dance Scene

Reggae may be the most famous musical genre to come out of Jamaica, but dancehall is the country’s most beloved style of music. Dancehall is reggae’s upbeat, rowdy cousin and has spawned a subculture defined by their incredible dance moves that dominate the club scene on the island.

Experience a slice of authentic, modern Jamaican culture with an exploration of Jamaica’s dancehall scene. Some of the best places to hear dancehall in the country include Fiction, Mingles, and Puls8 in the heart of Kingston.

Alternatively, Jamaican locals on websites like Airbnb are happy to organize bar-hopping nights that take you to Jamaica’s premier dancehall clubs and can give you local insights into the scene.

Wander The White Sand Beaches In Negril

evenings in Jamaica - negril beaches

Voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the World, Negril’s iconic 7-Mile Beach is a vast stretch of pure, white sand that densely populated with travelers during the day. Beat the heat and the crowds and wander the shores during the early evening to soak up the soothing atmosphere of this quintessentially tropical beach.

There are bars and restaurants dotted along the way that offer chilled reggae music and authentic Jamaican delicacies like fresh-caught shellfish and jerked meat.

If you are too exhausted from a day spent enjoying the many water sports on offer, you can also experience the fantastic shoreline on horseback.
