  • What Timezone does Jamaica Uses?

    Jamaica uses Eastern Standard Time. Jamaica does not observe Daylight Savings Time. Some prefers to use GMT -5.

  • Can Jamaica Use Cash App?

    No. Cash App does not work in Jamaica and in fact no other country outside of the US and UK.

  • When is lobster season in Negril?

    The lobster season in Negril is the same season for the entire Jamaica. Every time of the year is lobster season, except from April 1 to June 30 each year when the season is closed.

    You should not buy fresh lobster during this time. Established restaurants make the necessary arrangements with the government authorities in order to serve lobster during this time, so it's quite okay to enjoy lobster meals in these places.

  • What Language is Spoken in Jamaica?

    The official language of Jamaica is English, but the Jamaican "Patois" or local creole- is spoken throughout the island.

  • Do All Jamaicans Smoke Ganja? [Interesting one!]

    No. And I may just add as well that not all Jamaican are Rastas, neither are all Rastas Jamaican.

  • What are the three arms of government in Jamaica?

    The three arms of government in Jamaica are, The Executive, The Legislature and The Judiciary.

  • How many parishes were in Jamaica in 1844?

    Jamaica had 22 parishes by 1844.

  • What Is The Literacy Rate In Jamaica?

    The most recent survey conducted by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) showed that Jamaica’s literacy rate is... an impressive 89% overall.

  • Is Jamaica an island or country?

    Jamaica is considered an island country.

  • Can I call Jamaica for free on WhatsApp?

    Definitely! In fact, I am in the USA right now and that's what I am using to call back home. As far as I know, its is one of the most preferred way to make free calls around the world right now.
