About Hargreaves Hospital Mandeville Jamaica

Hargreaves Memorial Hospital is a 90-year-old institution built on the legacy of a group of brave young ladies from the Mandeville community who created a "General Purpose Committee" in 1925 and committed their support to the establishment of a Maternity Hospital.

Their perseverance, tenacity, and beneficial collaborations resulted in the transformation of the Maternity Hospital into a full-service community hospital named after Dr Hargreaves.

The hospital thrived and provided excellent service to the people of Central Jamaica until 2006 when it was forced to close permanently owing to financial difficulties. Calvin and Sylvia Lyn, the current owners, took a risk to save the landmark and prevent it from closure.

Pediatric and Adult Cardiology- Dr. Scott

Dr. Scott is a top pediatric cardiologist in the Caribbean. Dr. Scott practices under the name "The Children's Heart and Pediatric Center," which opened in January 2006. This is the first faculty on the Island to provide a comprehensive pediatric cardiac consultation that includes investigations in a single visit at the same location, reducing the need for patients, particularly those from rural Jamaica, to make multiple trips to establish a diagnosis and begin a management plan.
