Mandeville, Jamaica is the home of many retired and returning residents. It is also the chosen vacation destination for some visitors who are looking to experience a more laid-back side of Jamaica. Whether you are a retiree, a returning resident or a visitor, healthcare availability is always important, especially in emergencies.
For that, you will be happy to know that there is the private Hargreaves Hospital in Mandeville Jamaica, that will be able to provide you with a wide range of healthcare services.
Hargreaves Memorial Hospital is a 90-year-old institution built on the legacy of a group of brave young ladies from the Mandeville community who created a "General Purpose Committee" in 1925 and committed their support to the establishment of a Maternity Hospital.
Their perseverance, tenacity, and beneficial collaborations resulted in the transformation of the Maternity Hospital into a full-service community hospital named after Dr Hargreaves.
The hospital thrived and provided excellent service to the people of Central Jamaica until 2006 when it was forced to close permanently owing to financial difficulties. Calvin and Sylvia Lyn, the current owners, took a risk to save the landmark and prevent it from closure.
They understand the sensitivity of seeking treatment for one's health so as Mandeville's only private hospital, they are dedicated solely to their patients. Outpatient treatment is available in the consulting suites for a wide range of minor ailments and surgeries are performed in the freshly remodeled operating rooms.
Their health services include:
