QUESTION: I remember a story book i used to read as a young girl in the 1970s called I REMEMBER IT WELL. it tells the story a life in the country, the kreng kreng etc. the cover has an old lady in a 'tie head' on the front and an old delap house, i need to know where i can source this book or even the author.

Hi Janice, I vaguely remember that book as a little girl on my dad’s shelf.
A search for the book, I Remember It Well, saw four different authors publishing a book with the same title, but given the time frame you have indicated, I think this one may be the right one (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4139020-i-remember-it-well)
Researching it took me back in time to an era in the life of the author.
Incidentally, the title of the book was also from a song written by him.
Now deceased, his autobiography may impress upon you also. Hope your book and happy reading! The other books can be checked out at the following sites:
