Photo Contest Entry #53 - My Piece of Jewels

This picture was taken a while back in 2012 at the Jewels Runaway Bay Resort in St. Ann. It was Teachers Day trip for the Junction Early Childhood Institution.

Been a single mom, me and my daughter pretty much go everywhere together.

This time however I had taken along one of my daughter's class mate from the Hampton High school for girls. When we arrived about 10 am we were created and taken on a tour where we were introduced to the flora and fauna of the Bible facility.

This particular area where the picture was taken was stood out as the most beautiful for me. The word JEWELS was carefully articulated with the plants forming each letter of the word.

The food was exceptional and I had my first strawberry dacre (daiquiri) and vegetable wrap, the many activities brought with them much enthusiasm.

The one that stood out most in my mind was the crab race which set the pace for other small competitions of similar nature.

Though this is one of the two and only pictures that were saved after accidentally deleted all the photos from my camera, the memories of the food, the flora and the fauna resonates with us.

Wish I could revisit and relive that day it one of Jamaica's authentic pieces, The Jewel.
