Pier 1 is more than just a restaurant. It is the hangout spot on Friday nights for Appleton Pier Pressure, it's the Sunday morning brunch spot, it’s the dinner spot for Mother’s Day, and it's the place to take someone special on a date.
The restaurant which was opened in 1986 and owned by the Russel family, is known for being among the best that Montego Bay has to offer. With delicious meals, legendary parties, beautiful sights and a welcoming atmosphere, it has all you need to create long-lasting memories.
There is usually a good mix of locals and tourists, so if you are looking to experience a little of Jamaican culture then Pier 1 is a great place to start.
The open-air waterfront restaurant gives you a dining experience like no other. It almost feels as though you are having your meal on a ship out at sea. It is mainly a Seafood restaurant, however, they do offer quite a comprehensive menu which includes chicken, beef, Jamaican favourites, salads, burgers and vegetarian options.
If you would love to enjoy the meal and not the social scene that is fine as well, they do offer curbside pickup or delivery through their delivery service partners Hugo, Baylogic Couriers and QuickKart.
The dress code depends on whether you are visiting on a regular day, or, you are attending an event, in which case the person hosting would let you know. Generally speaking, however, Pier one has a semi-casual dress code. Men are not allowed to wear sandals.
The atmosphere is generally relaxing which is credited to the open-air setting and inviting employees and patrons as well. A mixture of Dancehall, Reggae and Hip Hop is usually being played to entertain the crowd.
You can take a stroll down the boardwalk on the waterfront for a stunning view of the sunset.
Pier 1 is a centrally located restaurant which makes it the perfect location for even out of towners to find. It is easily secured, provides ample parking and can be used for many different types of events. There are the:
All five locations offer different views and experiences and can be used to create whatever atmosphere you would like your event to have.
Pier 1 has actually been used for some major events over the years, including Dreams Weekend, Seafood Fest, Reggae Sumfest, and Jazz Fest.
Pier 1 does offer their bar for events being hosted there, which alleviates not only the stress of finding a venue but also the stress of finding your own bar services as well. Pier 1’s bar team includes bartenders, cashiers and bar equipment.
For catering needs, you can have Pier 1 prepare the undeniably delicious meals they are known for at your wedding, birthday or any other celebratory event that requires tasty dishes. They have a maximum catering limit of 500 people so bear that in mind. If you have special requirements for the dishes at your event, don’t worry. You can work with Pier 1 to execute the menu of your dreams.
Pier 1 is definitely a must-visit if you are on vacation in Montego Bay. If you would love to enjoy just their exquisite dining experience, then weekdays are the best.
Weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), are usually more of a party scene, so those would be the best days if that is the side of Jamaica you would like to experience.
