The Red Flowering Tree

by Jamaican fan
(Houston,TX)

QUESTION:.

On a recent trip to Jamaica we saw a beautiful red flowering tree.

Our guide told us it would reflect moon light and give a lantern effect. We think he called it a poticea tree and is part of the mimosa family.

We would like any info on this tree to see if we can grow it in our area. Thank you.

Hi Jamaican Fan,

Vaughn from Australia had asked me about this plant sometime ago (If we are taking about the same one). Please visit this link to see my response.
