So, you are coming to Mobay and you are vegan, what are your options? There are quite a few vegan restaurants in Montego Bay already and with more health-conscious locals and visitors emerging daily, there are bound to be even more vegan options in the near future.
But what restaurants are available now? Let’s look at the top options.

Millennium Victory

Governed by the rules and teachings of Rastafarianism, this restaurant practices veganism or what is known here as an “ital” way of life. This means that not only are animals and their by-products rejected but processed seasonings (including salt) are substituted for natural options instead. The location of the restaurant itself is ideal as well.

Though it is located on the ever-busy Barnett Street in downtown Montego Bay, you will almost forget all the hustle and bustle of the city as soon as you enter the premises.

You can still enjoy the delicious Jamaican flavours we’ve all come to know and love without breaking your diet, escovitch fish can be substituted with escovitch tofu, our national fruit is done minus the saltfish and is instead prepared with just the vegetables and herbs that contribute the exciting flavour of the loved dish.

Be sure to get a cup of tea while you wait that is as delicious as it is nutritious and beneficial to your overall health and wellness too.

A Vegan’s Utopia

The plant-based haven, located in downtown Montego Bay serves tasty and unique vegan options to its many patrons daily.

The menu here is quite extensive, including cauliflower wings in spicy or BBQ flavour, Cauliflower wing pot pies, burgers, pastas, sandwiches and stir-fries among other options as well. Some of their items are done to order so if you are in a rush it is best to call ahead.

There are also blended juices made purely from natural ingredients that you should definitely try. And, while the restaurant is a vegan’s utopia, non-vegans can still enjoy the meals and add a little cheese to their loaded fries if they wish.

If you aren’t in the mood to visit the restaurant downtown, you might be able to have it delivered if you happen to be in one of the selected areas for delivery.

Sometimes a good café with a wide variety of items outside of just coffee is difficult to find, especially when you add vegan or vegetarian to the mix. The DLE café in Fairview, Montego Bay is the answer to that prayer. Their very extensive health-conscious dishes do not sacrifice nutrition or taste and cater to vegans, vegetarians, disciplined health and wellness persons, and others who are just seeking to try and improve their health through their life and dietary choices.

Their exciting and ever-expanding menu includes wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, burgers, salads, pizzas, paninis and a wide array of other healthy options including dessert.

Abba’s Cuisine

The Abba’s Cuisine menu has the most delicious and innovative vegan dishes on rotation from jerk ackee to gungo rundown and various pastas, burgers, smoothies and soups.

Take the opportunity to create your own pasta, just the way you’d like from the fresh ingredients available. Health nuts can stop by for their protein shakes before heading to their demanding workout training.

Their non-dairy ice cream with organic nuts is perfect for a cheat day without breaking your dietary preferences.
