Vikings House Treasure Beach || by Kesha Stewart
Treasure Beach is on the southern coastline of Jamaica specifically in the parish of St. Elizabeth. It is located in a section of the island better known for its agriculture but I have to say there is a real treasure to be found right there, āhassle free and hustle freeā as they say.
Developed by the Genus family, the Vikings Rasta Retreat is a stand out amongst travellers who are seeking a different kind of vacation.

The setting is suitable for those adventuresome travellers who wish to backpack it through, couples, friends and even families with children. So you decide where you fit in. Formerly known as Vikings House, this haven is spiritual and rejuvenating. A retreat in the true sense.
Viking Genus, has been operating this travellers haven, and its all for you at great rates. Your accommodation is economically priced at rates of about USD50 per night.
There are also rates for the week or month. Hey did you know that they will pick you up and take you from the airport in Kingston or Montego Bay and take you straight to your VRR vacation? Just ask about their rates.
They will perhaps tell you about their rooms which they describe as ābeautiful and breezyā and outfitted with a private bathroom and kitchenette.
The location itself is right next to the beach and this section of the island is usually windy so the weather is mostly comfortable, even though there is no AC plus all the rooms have several windows offering great ventilation and there are also ceiling fans.
If those pesky bugs drive you nuts, relax, each window is outfitted with an insect screen. You will have lots of opportunities to interact with the locals and become an āIslanderā as the surrounding community friendly.
As you hike through the scenic south you will definitely treasure the amazing views you will get when you visit Lovers Leap or just relax and have a private picnic and be at one with nature. Well itās your vacation, so you decide.
Well if you are one of those who have to mix business with pleasure there is internet connection so you can keep in touch with the rest of the worldā¦if you must.
Still want to see more? Donāt worry there is much more to see and do, just ask the VRR Iām sure you will get some useful suggestions. From your base at VRR you have access to the Black River Safari Tour to see crocodiles in their natural habitat not to mention the other wildlife and flora. Taste real Appleton Estate Rum on the Appleton Rum Tour or just walk through the historic town of Black River, which is the parish capital of St. Elizabeth.
You can shop at the local gift shops in the town and get local souvenirs or stroll the town and gaze upon beautiful Georgian architecture, some such as the Black River Parish Church, are more than a century old.
Just up the road from there is the Invercauld Great house ā the first house to be electrified on the island. Then if that is not enough you can visit the Zong Monument dedicated to our ancestors who lost their life on a slave ship of the same name.
Vikings House Treasure Beach is described as the epitome of rest and relaxation; itās a great place for mediation and rejuvenation itās my suggestion for your next vacation on Jamaica's south coast!
