Dining at the Courtyard

The Courtyard only has one main restaurant and a bar, however, remember this is Kingston and there is a restaurant at every turn and food delivery services that operate even late at night so you have quite a few options.

  • The Centro- At the restaurant The Centro, you can eat all day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Start your day off right with a nutritious breakfast from the on-site restaurant, which also serves delicious Jamaican coffee and local and international meals.

  • Rooftop Pool Bar- At Rooftop Pool Bar, savour the chef's daily specialities and their speciality drinks. While dipping your toes in the ocean and holding a delicious beverage, take in views of Kingston.

The location of the Courtyard by Marriot places you close to so many of the best things you can do while in Kingston. Here are the top three.

  • Bob Marley Museum- Reggae music is one of Jamaica's most popular exports, and the genre wouldn't exist without Bob Marley. He is still among Jamaica's most revered and significant figures and is regarded in many ways as a cultural hero. The musician's former residence now houses the museum.

It displays his extraordinary life from humble beginnings in one of the poorest areas in Jamaica to global acclaim for his contributions to music and society, and it is still owned by his family. Many people view him as a national hero for bringing Jamaica's culture and people to the attention of the globe.

  • Devon House- Devon House, which was built in 1881, is still one of Kingston's most notable buildings and historic heritage sites. With Georgian Jamaican architecture typical of plantation buildings constructed by British colonists at the height of the slave trade, it represents Jamaica's rich cultural diversity. Furniture from the 19th century is used to beautify the home, evoking a bygone era.

Tours available will teach you more about the home's history and what it means to modern-day Jamaicans. There are numerous stores, eateries, and cafes located on the estate's grounds. The most popular is the Devon House Ice Cream parlour, which is believed to be the best-tasting ice cream on the island.

  • Lime Cay- Despite having some of the warmest, clearest waters in the Caribbean, Jamaicans, especially Kingstonians, don't visit the beach as much as you might think. Weekend beach days are typically reserved for Kingston locals who take the "canoe," or ferry, out to Lime Cay.

The tiny cay is near Norman Manley International Airport and is situated not far from the mainland's coast. Visitors are transported to and from either Morgan's Harbour or Y-Knot by hired boats.

As there are no shops on the cay, It is advised to bring your own supplies, food, and water. It's the ideal getaway for anyone seeking a break from the city, with a stunning white sand beach and quiet waters nearby.
