From Kingston over Williamsfield to Montego Bay! (1984)

Photo Contest Entry #41 - From Kingston over Williamsfield to Montego Bay! (1984)

Let me take you back in time, to the 1980s.

Imagine a boy in Europe at the age of twenty, just finishing school and hearing for his first time Reggae Music, heartbeat music from Bob Marley.

It was a must to see where this music was coming from.
And this is how my adventure started: a 33 hours ride from Vienna/Austria over Moscow, Luxembourg, Shannon, Havanna and Kingston and there with a 5 and half hours train ride over Spanish Town and Williamsfield to Montego Bay!

An unforgettable train-ride through a tropical vegetation. Everywhere the exotic smell, friendliness of people and music in the air. No internet, no stress, no rush-hours in the cities: the good ol´ times: soon come.

In Jamaica the people go on the street to talk, to communicate. Please keep that, because here in Europe you are not even talking to your neighbor.

I love to come back to Jamaica to visit all my friends, because your country is still a dream for me.
