Jamaica- My Happy Place

Jamaica50 Entry #14 -Jamaica- My Happy Place

It seems only fitting that I spend my 50th Birthday in a Country celebrating it's 50th!!

I have traveled to Jamaica several times throughout my life. I spent my honeymoon in Negril, shared special time with my family and friends in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios and now I am going to Runaway Bay next Month!
My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and my 'significant' birthday there.

I find it a bit challenging to put into words just how wonderful Jamaica is!! The food is so flavorful and hard to duplicate... Although my family and I pursue this quite a bit!

The people are wonderful... So full of humor and love, in spite if the daily challenges they face.

The music... Which I have an extensive library of now, seems to instantly take me back to this serene, 'feel good' place. I just close my eyes and relive many of the holidays we work so hard to take.

My mother suffered a brain injury several years ago but smiles whenever I recall our vacation together and mimics the dance moves we shared in Jamaica.
This is so special!

I love your beautiful country and will always keep a special place in my heart where everything is 'irie'!

Happy Jamaica50th!

Sharon- we did swim with the dolphins and climbed up Dunn's River Falls. We also went up to the Bob Marley Mausoleum. Since most of what I wanted to do was around Ocho Rios, we stayed there. Neck trip, which I hope is next year, we will stay in Negril.

What to do?
by: Sharon

Hey Shelley... Did u do anything momentous to celebrate your milestone birthday like jump off the cliff at Ricks or swim with the dolphins or...?
I want to do something special.
As for our 10 year anniversary...We are hoping to renew our vows too... Provided we can locate a minister down there.
Thx for your comments.:)))

50th Birthday
by: Anonymous

Awesome story! We just got back from Ocho Rios, and although we were not there for my 50th Birrthday (Oct 11th of this year), we did celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary there.

Jamaica is now my most favorite place to visit.
