Contest Entry #027 - My Jamaica Moments
Life, anywhere in the world, holds its beauty and its challenges. But when we look around we see the beauty that is beckoning us to relax, smell the roses, watch the sunset, toss a ball to a pet or just look at the beauty of the sky, the sea, the earth.
As I travel daily from one end of Jamaica to another, step out of my front door or back door, see my children my first response is to reach for my phone or camera and capture the picture of the moment. A picture says a lot.
My capturing of my photos is something that I share with me. I call them ‘my moments’. The ones that fascinate me most are to capture the clouds and sky in the radiance they let off.
It seems to be beckoning me to quietness, a oneness with the creator. It helps me to see that the one who painted these masterpieces day after day is worth giving Him total control of my life.
My next pet peeve is the green lush vegetation around my house, in my neighbourhood, on the road to work or anywhere that matters. There is something about the blends of green touching the blue sky and reflecting in the white clouds.
Many times I would ask my children to stand by a tree or out in nature just to paint them in this wonderful beauty that is all around.
If you want to distress your mind and body, look around you there is beauty everywhere Jamaica.
