Here are 7 very rich Jamaicans.

1. Joseph M. Matalon โ€“ $3.6 billion

The richest person in Jamaica is Joseph M. Matalon, with a net worth of $3.6 billion. The compensation he receives as Chairman of ICD Group Holdings has helped him amass his wealth. This is an investment holding firm based in Jamaica. His earnings as Chairman of the media company RJR Gleaner Communications Group have also increased his bank account.

Prior to this, he presided over the Development Bank of Jamaica. Matalon is a corporate executive with more than three decades of expertise. He founded the FirstAngels Jamaica network to support the upcoming generation of business owners.

2. Michael Lee-Chin โ€“ $2.5 billion

After starting as a road engineer for the Jamaican government, Michael Lee-Chin worked his way up to become the chairman and founder of Portland Holdings, a privately held investment company in Jamaica. AIC Ltd. and National Commercial Bank both have him as their executive chairman.

Mr. Lee-Chin, born in Port Antonio, is a shareholder in Trinidad and Tobago's Total Finance and Jamaica's National Commercial Bank. He privately owns residences in Florida and Canada as well as 250 acres of Ocho Rios oceanfront. He has been included on the Forbes Magazine billionaire list for the last four years.

3. Blossom Oโ€™Meally-Nelson - $ 1 billion

The first female postmaster general in Jamaica is O'Meally-Nelson. She served as the University of Technology's Council's chairman and former provost (UTECH). Despite her outstanding accomplishments in the public sector, O'Meally-Nelson is making strides in the business world with the family-run Aeromar Group. She is Jamaica's richest lady and one of the country's wealthiest individuals in 2022.

4. Wayne Chen- $ 1 billion

Michael Lee-brother Chin's is Wayne Christopher Chen. He may not be the wealthiest member of his family, but he has accumulated a fortune through a variety of business ventures. The CEO of Super Plus Food Stores, Wayne Chen, is also the impetus behind significant growth in the Jamaican retail sector.

Among other positions, he holds the chairmanships of West Indies Trust Co. Limited and NCB Insurance Co. Limited. He also sits on the boards of Christiana Town Centre Limited, AIC (Barbados) Limited, and NCB (Cayman) Limited.

5. Paula Kerr-Jarrett- $ 1 billion

Paula is a prominent member of Jamaican society, an attorney, and a philanthropist. She is working to promote tourism in Montego Bay with her husband, Mark.

Two months ago, they put forth a multibillion-dollar collaboration initiative to construct 1,200 residences, a 48-acre tech park with ample room for information technology jobs to support 30,000 people, and a new University of the West Indies with up to 10,000 students.

A $500 million investment is anticipated for the project. Her great-grandmother, Marion Louise Reece Bovell, was the first Jamaican woman to run as an independent in the 1944 general elections.

6. Chris Blackwell- $180 million

Blackwell was born in Westminster, London, England, but shortly after his birth, his family moved to Jamaica. He is a businessman and record producer with a $300 million wealth. Chris became wealthy by founding Island Records.

Reggae music's globalisation is owed in part to the record label. In 2001, he was admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Blackwell is active in several charitable organisations.

7. Usain Bolt - $90 million

With eight Olympic gold medals and 19 Guinness World Records in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, Usain has acquired a fortune from his successful athletic career. His estimated net worth is $90 million.

His competition prizes account for the majority of his net worth. He was among the highest-paid athletes in the world during the height of his competitive career. When he shows up at certain events, Usain also receives a large sum in appearance fees. He has endorsement agreements with companies like Puma and Visa.
