Jamaica is one of the poorer countries in the west although it is classified as a middle-income country by the world bank. Despite this, these Jamaicans have amassed fortunes through their work in tourism, sports, music, finance, real estate and other fields.

Here are 7 very rich Jamaicans.
The richest person in Jamaica is Joseph M. Matalon, with a net worth of $3.6 billion. The compensation he receives as Chairman of ICD Group Holdings has helped him amass his wealth. This is an investment holding firm based in Jamaica. His earnings as Chairman of the media company RJR Gleaner Communications Group have also increased his bank account.
Prior to this, he presided over the Development Bank of Jamaica. Matalon is a corporate executive with more than three decades of expertise. He founded the FirstAngels Jamaica network to support the upcoming generation of business owners.
After starting as a road engineer for the Jamaican government, Michael Lee-Chin worked his way up to become the chairman and founder of Portland Holdings, a privately held investment company in Jamaica. AIC Ltd. and National Commercial Bank both have him as their executive chairman.
Mr. Lee-Chin, born in Port Antonio, is a shareholder in Trinidad and Tobago's Total Finance and Jamaica's National Commercial Bank. He privately owns residences in Florida and Canada as well as 250 acres of Ocho Rios oceanfront. He has been included on the Forbes Magazine billionaire list for the last four years.
The first female postmaster general in Jamaica is O'Meally-Nelson. She served as the University of Technology's Council's chairman and former provost (UTECH). Despite her outstanding accomplishments in the public sector, O'Meally-Nelson is making strides in the business world with the family-run Aeromar Group. She is Jamaica's richest lady and one of the country's wealthiest individuals in 2022.
Michael Lee-brother Chin's is Wayne Christopher Chen. He may not be the wealthiest member of his family, but he has accumulated a fortune through a variety of business ventures. The CEO of Super Plus Food Stores, Wayne Chen, is also the impetus behind significant growth in the Jamaican retail sector.
Among other positions, he holds the chairmanships of West Indies Trust Co. Limited and NCB Insurance Co. Limited. He also sits on the boards of Christiana Town Centre Limited, AIC (Barbados) Limited, and NCB (Cayman) Limited.
Paula is a prominent member of Jamaican society, an attorney, and a philanthropist. She is working to promote tourism in Montego Bay with her husband, Mark.
Two months ago, they put forth a multibillion-dollar collaboration initiative to construct 1,200 residences, a 48-acre tech park with ample room for information technology jobs to support 30,000 people, and a new University of the West Indies with up to 10,000 students.
A $500 million investment is anticipated for the project. Her great-grandmother, Marion Louise Reece Bovell, was the first Jamaican woman to run as an independent in the 1944 general elections.
Blackwell was born in Westminster, London, England, but shortly after his birth, his family moved to Jamaica. He is a businessman and record producer with a $300 million wealth. Chris became wealthy by founding Island Records.

With eight Olympic gold medals and 19 Guinness World Records in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, Usain has acquired a fortune from his successful athletic career. His estimated net worth is $90 million.
His competition prizes account for the majority of his net worth. He was among the highest-paid athletes in the world during the height of his competitive career.
