Great question, Rossini—and something a lot of folks, especially those with family land or investment property, ask all the time. Whether you're here in Jamaica or abroad, getting a copy of a land title isn’t as hard as it sounds once you know where to go.
The main authority that handles land titles in Jamaica is the National Land Agency (NLA). They have offices islandwide, but the Land Titles Division at 93 Hanover Street in Kingston is the hub for processing these requests.
If you're in Jamaica, you can walk into an NLA office with your ID and details like the volume and folio number of the land. If you don’t have that, the address or the property valuation number can also work. And if you're overseas, you can apply online via the NLA’s website or ask someone locally to submit the request on your behalf with proper authorization.
There’s usually a fee for the certified copy, I think it is currently around JMD $2,000 to $3,000, but it may vary slightly depending on the type of title and how quickly you need it.
