will NHT non-payment by employer affect my loan chance?

QUESTION:

I worked with a particular company for approximately six years.

I understand the money was not been paid over to NHT by the company.

Will this affect MY CHANCE of getting a LOAN from NHT? i would really love to know.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for asking. I checked with the National Housing Trust and they confirmed your fear -but only if that is the case.

Yes, the non-payment of NHT contributions will surely affect your chances of getting a loan from the trust.

They made a few recommendation though.

• Contact your past employer:
  
  Advise them of your need - find out if they still have monies pending to submit to the NHT on your behalf.
  
  If they do, advise them to submit it asap and contact the housing trust.
  
  
• Another option would be the first contact the NHT:
  
  Ask to speak to a compliance officer and state your case. Have them validate that there is in fact no return was made on your part.
  
  If there are no record of transactions showing from said company, ask if the compliance officer can reach out to them on your behalf.
