Jamaica Virtual Tour | Highlights Of Radio Interview

I was a guest on a popular radio program out of Chicago recently. It's called The Pirate Show on Bleat Network.

The program was hosted by Garry.

After a glowing introduction, talking about my website, my two books and stuff, Garry essentially asked me to take him on a virtual tour of Jamaica.

And that I did - at least I think though!

He asked about the music, culture, food, places to go and even some folklore :-)
And so yes, I grabbed the opportunity to talk about...

  • Where I live in Jamaica
  • My favourite activity in Jamaica
  • A lesser known but interesting fact that would surprise a new visitor
  • Legends (folklore) on duppy and luck
  • The many (and magnificent) caves, waterfalls, historical attractions and museums
  • Other must-do activities, including rafting, cliff jumping and sunset watching
  • Our delectable foods, including Jerk chicken, curried chicken, jerk pork, escoveitched and fried fish, curried goat, sweet potato pudding, cornmeal pudding, Jamaican curry, pimento (allspice); popular and much loved drinks, sorrel, soursop and carrot juices.
  • And yes, the Christmas cake at Christmas time.

At the end Garry figured that he needs to be here :-)

You should be able to find a copy of the program on their website at but above that, I also have a copy that I've repurposed in video format.

Outside of the fact that it was quite educational, it was also fun. So here is it now... enjoy (and share).

This is indeed what I call #TheRealJamaica
