So you are planning a vacation, honeymoon, family getaway, whatever it is, and your destination is the beautiful, sunny island of Jamaica. Naturally, because of course, our golden beaches, turquoise waters and vibrant culture are just simply irresistible.

 However, with so many options available for accommodations, your head might be spinning with questions like which resort is best, which is closest to an area with an active nightlife and how far is it from the airport?

Do you prefer full resorts where you can mingle with others and meet new people, or would you rather have a private villa where you will be secluded from the rest of the world? Well, this is for those of you who want both and do not want to choose. You want to enjoy the benefits of a resort but you also want the full benefits of staying in a private villa.

So here you go, these resorts are some of the best on the island, and fortunately for people like yourself, they are Jamaican resorts with private villas. You'll get the best of both worlds.

1. Half Moon Resort

The Half Moon resort located in Rose Hall, Montego Bay, has been around since 1954. If you enjoy golfing this is the resort for you, they have been rated as one of the best golf resorts in the world! Here you will find fun activities for all age groups, so it's a great option whether you are travelling alone, as a couple or with family.

The Rosehall villas, which fall under the Half Moon resort, are just a small distance away from the resort itself. These villas give you a home away from feeling and you have the choice of choosing between 5, 6, or 7 bedroom villas. Each villa comes fully staffed with a butler, housekeeper and cook, a private pool, outdoor space, and either an ocean or garden view. Staying in these villas still provides you with full access to all the restaurants and other amenities on the resort.

2. Round Hill Hotel and Villas

Round Hill has a reputation for being one of the most private resorts in Jamaica. They have seen numerous visits from many celebrities and royals over the years and are still a top vacation destination for many belonging to the upper echelon of society.

You will have 26 luxurious villas to choose from for accommodation purposes, classic villas, estate villas and signature villas. Here are some of the amenities that each villa offers:

3. Sandals (Royal Caribbean and South Coast)

Can you just imagine what it would be like spending your honeymoon or vacation with the person of your dreams surrounded by nothing but pristine blue water? Everyone knows that Sandals Resorts have some of the highest-rated resorts in the Caribbean and the world at large, so it is no surprise that they have two Jamaican resorts with private villas, namely Sandals Royal Caribbean (Montego Bay) Sandals South Coast (formally, Sandals Whitehouse in Westmoreland).

When you think of an island destination vacation you think of sandals. Their overwater bungalows are perfect if you are honeymooning and were designed with love and romance in mind. The bungalows are only a few minutes' ride from the island resort where you will still have full access to all the amenities on the property.

Although I doubt you will ever want to leave your bungalow. Here are some of the things these bungalows offer:

• Butler Service - you will receive a 24hr butler that will wait on you in every way you could possibly want for your entire stay. They will greet you with lemon-grass scented hand towels, cocktails and treats. They will escort you to your suite and even unpack for you. They will even provide you with a private cell phone so you can reach them at any time you desire. 
• Tranquillity Soaking Tub - Can you just imagine relaxing in a tub with the love of your life (yes, the tubs are big enough for two), surrounded by beautiful turquoise waters? 
• Hammocks- each bungalow has an outdoor hammock for your relaxation needs.
• Outdoor shower.
• Glass Floor - One of the best features of the overwater bungalows is the glass floors. You can be in your room, relaxing on your king-size bed and just watch as the beautiful fishes swim by.

Additionally, if you stay at Sandals South Coast you get to experience the island’s first overwater bar as well.

Well there you have it, three of the top Jamaican resorts with private villas. Whichever one you choose, you definitely won’t be disappointed.
