Trying to see the McKenzie Bible
by: Anonymous

Hi
I am McKenzie from Clarendon. The McKenzie family is huge there and most if not all look a like. My grandfather who was the baby of nine was born in 1910. Even though my grandfather died when I was a teenager it bothers me that I don’t know much. I did not know any of my grandfather’s siblings, however I was told 1of his brothers went to Panama to work . My grandfather used to tell me about his siblings however not enough about his linage. I am very interested in the McKenzie bible. It probably have my grandfather’’s father and grandfather in it.

Sincerely
A Claredonian McKenzie

The McKenzies
by: S Black

Hi

Hope all the McKenzie families are well.

I am in need of any help that can be given please.

I do not have much information. My gran Edna McKenzie passed away a few years ago now, in the UK. I know she had a brother who moved to America, I think in the 60's or 70's. Apparently my Great or Great, great grand father was a butcher. She had daughters, Verona, Gene, a son named Danny. My mum Verona was in Kingston before moving to The UK in the early 70's.

Anyone who could add to this, you can contact me on lkeblack59@gmail.com I would be really grateful for your help.

Thanks

Hi, don't know if this is of any interest but I have a set of 3 large illustrated leatherbound family bibles that belonged to the Mackenzie family Kingston Jamaica family history entries dating back to William Mackenzie born 1824, Elspeth Dalzell Mackenzie born 1826, numerous other names added to family register also death dates. Actual bibles where published mid 1800's, also a handwritten family tree on first couple of pages, in three complete volumes.

Nothing is really known about his mothers family except that her father was a Leonard McKenzie who owned a large banana company. he was with my mother-in-laws mother, Alberta Mcmahon for awhile and then married another woman. My husband recently had his DNA done and would like to know who he may be related to on his mothers side.she was born in 1938 and raised in Kingston. anyone who may have some information please contact me at: bradyE751@Gmail.com

Alice Adinah Mckenzie
by: Anonymous

Alice Adinah Mckenzie was my grandmother, I don't know if its the correct spelling but I think she lived here and ran a small shop and broke in horses. She had two sisters, Louise and Rose and I think her mother was Jane Ann Blake. She came to England maybe around 1950 with her little girl (my mum) but returned to JA perhaps around 10 years later. Would love to hear from you if anything here sounds familiar.

McKenzie's of Jamaica
by: Anonymous

My name is canute mckenzie, my family is from clarendon and kilits, JA. If your a McKenzie from JA, then you morebthan likely originate from one of the three McKenzie brothers that settled Jamaica during the slave trade. From my research my grandpa was scots/irish. His father was black/white scot named Charlie McKenzie and wife was an ex slave. My great, great, great grandpa was christian mckenzie, who was from scotland and his father was a german scot that settled in england. If your a McKenzie,Hutton, or Johnson, then your are likely related to me. If you would like to contact me, I can be reached a cdmg81@hotmail.com.
