Catcha Falling Star Gardens Review

My wife and I finally got a chance to break away from our day jobs! It was vacation time baby!! And we decided we had to make an official stop in Negrilllll (Negril), yipee!

This time, at the recipient of the Trip Advisor's Certificate of Excellence, Catcha Falling Star Gardens.

It is a small, quaint, low budget hotel located on the West End of Negril. It is perhaps one of the cheapest little hotels in Negril (and Jamaica) but for certain, you can never tell based on their facilities and service; the room was sparkling clean, comfy and had all the basic amenities we needed - including cable television, air conditioning, bed nets (for the baby) and a small refrigerator.

And if we needed to chill outside, we could have chosen their newly opened pool, or the hammock on the balcony - but we got too busy for those :-).

Why 'GARDENS' in the name?

I never asked, but I suspect it was perhaps because, like a garden, they have several Jamaican fruit trees present, and been a lover of nature, I certainly appreciated that.

I noticed guava (and it was the season), sweet sop, ackee and naseberry. Those in addition to several glowing bougainvilleas and other local flowers.

Incidentally, the hotel became our little hub for our Negril excursion.

We had breakfast (Ackee and Salfish with boiled bananas and dumplings) the following morning at Westside Bar & Grill, just a few chains down the road, before heading off to the pristine white sands of the 7 mile beach.

As you can see we had a wonderful time. It was not the perfect beach day in Negril, but we made the most of it.

We also grabbed the opportunity to snap pictures of local wares and Jamaican souvenir items.

Later, went back in town, had some piping hot Jamaican patties and headed back to the hotel, but not before stopping by the world famous Rick's Cafe!

We observed the breathtaking jumps off the cliffs, believe me,it's not for the weak-hearted. We saw professionals as well as amateurs. Most of those I call amateurs are visitors and guest to the island.

By the time we reached back at Catcha Falling Star Garden, it was almost time for dinner, and guess where we were going baby?

...Ivan's Restaurant & Bar! The #1 rated restaurant in Negril at Trip Advisor for their quality of food, level of service, value and atmosphere.

That's at the sister property, The Catcha Falling Star Hotel.

Thanks a million to Jane, the property manager of the Catcha Falling Star Gardens for the gesture. And yes, the food, ambiance and service was awesome!

Jane, by the way, is a the most convivial English woman! Very welcoming. She has been here for over eight years and has now proudly made Jamaica her new home! Just like Maura.

Although been the Manager On Duty, she still found time to take a photo with my family, very sweet of her.

Thanks to Jane & the entire team for hosting us! It was memorable, and yes, we'll certainly be back!
