Does Jamaica have ATV riding?
Yes, Jamaica does have ATV riding. Most adventure and excursion companies have ATV tours through the forests in Jamaica.
How old do you have to be to ride ATVs in Jamaica?
Drivers must be 18 years or older, passengers must be at least 12 years old.
Do you need a driver’s license to ride an ATV in Jamaica?
Yes, the driver will need to have a valid driver’s license to be allowed to operate the ATV.
What should I wear for an ATV ride in Jamaica?
- Gloves
- Sneakers/Hiking Boots
- Comfortable Denim Pants (or shorts if you are doing a short tour on a terrain that is easily maneuvered.
- T-Shirt/Long-sleeved cotton shirt
- Sunscreen
What should I bring?
- Extra suit of clothes
- Swimsuit (for excursions with water activities)
- Towel
- Mosquito repellant (for excursions into the mountains or forest)
Who would ATV rides in Jamaica not be suitable for?
- Persons with disabilities
- Pregnant women
- Persons over 300 lbs
- Persons recovering from surgery
- Persons who suffer from neck or back pain
Are ATVs Street legal in Jamaica?
No, they aren’t allowed on public roads and highways.
Which experiences are best for 4WD, ATV and off-road tours in Jamaica?
There are quite a few companies to choose from for your ATV adventures in Jamaica. It just depends on what you are looking for and where you are staying on the island. Here are some options to consider.
1. Chukka Adventure Tours
ATVs are not the only adventure offered by Chukka and so the ATV rides are most times a part of a package.
They offer ATV rides at 2 of their locations, Chukka Cove and Cliffs at Llandovery and Ocean Outpost Sandy Bay.
Chukka Cove and Cliffs - Mountain to Sea
The trip takes you through a rugged trail of the backcountry, touring a historic estate, through a river and underneath the bridge that takes you from the ocean into the mountains. You will also see Blue Hole Estate and Sugar Factory Ruins.
Ocean Outpost - ATV & Cliff Jump
The ATV Safari tour takes you through a colonial-era estate along the coast.

2. JamWest Motorsports & Adventure Park - Little London, Westmoreland
Located 20 minutes from Negril’s Seven-Mile Beach. Beginners are welcomed to a few practice laps around the small dirt trail. Then, you’ll get to have 100% off road experience.
The trail leads to the Salmon Point fishing village where you can relax on the sandy beaches or stop by the mineral bath nearby.
Pick-up and drop-off from select hotels in Negril, Montego Bay and Lucea. Pick-ups are 30-60 minutes before your excursion begins. Tour schedules are 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM and 4 PM.
The minimum age is 16 with a valid learning permit of a driver’s license.
3. Campbelton Mountain Adventures - Campbelton Road, Hanover, Jamaica
One of the newest adventure tours in Jamaica. Groups of no more than 12 are guided by experts who will safely guide you across cliffs and the rugged terrain to the 7 Mile Swing. Here you can take your photos and enjoy the sunset.
There are 3 ATV packages: ATV only, ATV and swing, ATV plus Hike and Swing.
There are two terrains Campbelton Plane and Mountain & Valley. The ATV only tour that has a maximum of 6 persons in a group with different hiking levels. The trail takes you through wetlands, canopies and mountain roads. Pick-ups and drop-offs are not included in the fees.

4. Yaaman Adventure & Nature Park - Prospect St. Mary
The Yaaman Adventure tour has the Wet N’ Dirty ATV ride which takes you 5 miles through lush forests on muddy trails. The minimum age requirement for passengers is 6 years old and for drivers with a valid license the age limit is 16 and above.

5. Exotic Excursions - Montego Bay, St. James
This adventure tour takes you off the beaten path and through the mountains of Jamaica.
The have quite a few ATV packages including:
