“I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.

I got a love and I know that its all mine, oh, oh whoa…

Take me away…

A secret place…

a sweet escape…take me away!”

Hello there! All this lovely sunshine and cool Jamaican breeze got me singing away!

But enough of my off key singing, I was expecting you! I was told you wanted to get some information on car rentals here in Jamaica, is that correct? Well you’re at the right place!

I’ll go ahead and assume that you’re like me, and prefer to be out and about, roaming and exploring at your own pace and own time!

You’re a little adventurous, maybe you even like living on the edge… You prefer to follow your own rules, and to manage your own movements just like me…oh, who am I kidding, you’re far better than I am, I’d get lost the moment I leave the parking lot! I have not sense of direction!

With that said, lets talk car rentals here in Jamaica and the many options you have!

Jamaica has two major airports that people from all over the world flies into:

  • The Sangster’s International Airport in Montego Bay,
  • And the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston,

However, regardless of where in Jamaica plan on vacationing, you will have no trouble getting car rental services.

In Montego Bay alone, there are over twenty car rental places!
Some of them side by side in location!

The same goes for Kingston too!

In addition to the international brands (Hertz, Budget, Avis etc.), I'll now share with you some of the most popular from the two major cities (and airport hubs) in Jamaica - Kingston and Montego Bay.

When Is The Best Time To Rent A Car In Jamaica?

Good question! I believe that it is best to plan your vacation and most, if not all aspects of it, ahead of time.

In doing so, when you arrive, you have everything ready and waiting.
It also saves you time and money scrambling at the last minute in unfamiliar territory.

And by the way, in many cases, you get discount for early bookings.

So when booking flights and hotel for example, you should also consider booking your car rental services! But what if you didn’t rent a car when you booked flights and hotel?

The list above should help.

And by the way, we always have a 'back pocket' option, just in case, so if you are in Jamaica and want to get around, but is perhaps a bit tired or had a change of heart, we recommend you consider getting a trusted tour guide.
