Cornwall Beach In Montego Bay, Jamaica (Video Here)
It was the first day from my way overdued vacation. For different reasons it was put off but I had to take it now!
Anyways, I chose to find a local beach and just thaw out for the day - I was really tired. So after much deliberation, I randomly picked Cornwall Beach (We have a number of nice beaches in Montego Bay).
Cornwall Beach is tucked between the world famous Doctor's Cave Beach and the Royal Decameron Hotel.

Outside of the genuine Jamaican friendliness of the two ladies at the entrance- a security (wished I got her name) and the receptionist, I was awed by the fresh, clean open atmosphere of the beach - and the pristine and spongy white sand!
Seriously, if you love lots of clean white sand - you'll love it here - over 2 acres of it!
Of course before I even get my feet wet I was busy taking pictures! You know me :-)
A Tuesday is not usually a very busy day anyways, but I was there pretty early, way before others started to stroll in, so I got some great shots - and yes, these are all from my cell phone!
See that sea grape tree (above)? The tree was heavy with ripe grapes and I had a feast on it :-), not to mention the gentlemen doing the grounds and others from the nearby Doctor's Cave beach.
I never knew that they were this succulent!
In terms of amenities, it does appear that they have the full package you'd expect from a beach club - beach chairs, beach umbrellas, showers, lifeguards, restrooms, changing areas and a host of water sport activities and watersport items for rent.
They have a flat entrance price (was 6USD or $500 JA) but they also offer packages at discounted costs that includes additional amenities - wished I had asked before :-)
They also have a wide bar, restaurant and gift shop on site - just one thing, the restaurant prices seemed a bit pricey to me, but that's just me, the food looked great though! I glanced at a few of the dishes I passed :-)
That's me! Having a sorrel sorbet!
What do you say about this flower? Yes at the beach?! And the garden fountain?
I also noticed a few tents on the beach, it looks like they were going to host some sort of event; I do understand that they host weddings and parties here as well.
Although less crowded, it is one of the most popular beaches in Montego Bay for cruise ship passengers who stop over weekly.
I understand too that they do have elaborate beach parties for these guests weekly.
Cornwall Beach was a public beach but was closed and reopen as a private beach a few years ago.
The beach is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm everyday. You may contact them via email at info@cornwallbeachja.com, call 876-979-0102 , or visit their website at http://www.cornwallbeachja.com.
