And even while doing this, I'm reflecting on my own mothers.
And noticed that I said mothers because I was blessed with a few, directly.

  • My birth mom, Valrie (the queen)
  • Grandmothers, 'Dada' and 'Mama' 
  • And special great grand mother, 'Mammy'

And I could go on by mentioning my aunts, teachers and guardians.

They, in their own ways, little and big, have helped to shape this gentleman you listen to and read from today my friends.

My mom and grandmothers have all passed on now, but their teachings, precepts and guidance will stay with me forever.... may their soul rest in peace.

By the way, did you notice that I placed that a 5 star beside number 4, Mama, by the late great Garnett Silk?

Yes, that's my personal favourite!

And the line:

"Mama, you can depend on me now, cause I 've seen you've tried your best, now its up to me to do the rest" has deep meaning for me.

And if you are reading this on mothers' day and is a mother, mother to be, caregiver, big sister, grand mom, adopted mom, guardian and even a dad who had to be mother, thank you!
