by Lady Jan Samms
(Negril)
Luddy Samms was born in Jamaica in 1947 and was taken by his parents, who were from Cascade Hanover, to the USA at the age of 4 months old.
He is a world famous member of "The Drifters" vocal group and toured with them for more than 20 years within the Treadwell Organisation.
He was on stage with Ben E King, Bill Fredericks and Johnny Moore and mainly performed in the UK.
He is a returnee to Jamaica, the land of his birth in 2012, and for the last six years has been performing and exciting audiences at his Bar in Negril called "the Drifters" Bar which incidentally is now the number 1 Bar in Negril.
His wife Lady Jan brought him back to trace his roots and he felt as though he was HOME and so he stayed.
