Ocean Palms Ocho Rios Jamaica

James Avenue, which has historical roots in the early Reggae music scene of the 1970s and 1980s, is where Ocean Palms is located in the centre of Ocho Rios. Locals and visitors to the area would congregate on James Avenue to catch electrifying live performances by local artists.

Now, the Ocean Palms provides excellent lodging and seclusion at a cost you can afford, with access to a private beach, pool, and restaurant at your fingertips. This modest, family-run business aspires to put people first, with client happiness being the first focus.

The goal is to give visitors and residents alike a chance to appreciate the island's natural beauty on a tight budget. The best restaurants, attractions, and nightlife are all close to the hotel.

Accommodations at Ocean Palms

This hotel in Ocho Rios offers rooms with views of the Caribbean Sea and some of these rooms are soundproof, just for that added layer of privacy or solitude, whichever way you look at it. Dining at the Ocean Palms

There is an onsite restaurant and breakfast is complimentary. However, that isn’t the only option. Many restaurants within the Ocho Rios area serve a variety of cuisines that you will enjoy. Here are some of the best:

• Evita’s Italian Restaurant- This is one of Ocho Rios's more opulent fine-dining establishments. Evita's, a restaurant serving food with a view of the Ocho Rios cruise port, is housed in a 1980s gingerbread house.
  
  Dishes from Northern Italy and fusions with Jamaican cuisine can be found on the menu. Each dish is prepared upon order, precisely to suit your tastes and dietary requirements.
  
  
• L’Escargot- One bite at a time, L'Escargot introduces France to Ocho Rios' Main Street. L'Escargot is one of Ocho Rios' most upscale eateries and serves lunch and dinner in a fine-dining atmosphere.
  
  The ideal restaurant for a leisurely date or evening with friends. To ensure your place is safe, reserve your table in advance. On Sundays, they provide a special brunch that is only by reservation.
  
  
• Plantation Smokehouse- One of Ocho Rios' newest eateries and the region's first smokehouse is called Plantation Smokehouse. They offer both international and Jamaican favourites in their laid-back, informal dining atmosphere. They do offer delivery in the neighbourhood.

What to do at Ocean Palms

Ocean Palms is not the type of hotel where you spend the entire time in a relaxing suite or on the property for that matter. One of the best things about the hotel is its location as Ocho Rios is considered the adventure town of Jamaica.

At the property, visitors can arrange various activities, such as darts, horseback riding, and snorkelling, or rent cars to go around Ocho Rios. Not sure where to start in Ocho Rios? Here are two must-see attractions:

Swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove

• Dunn's River Falls- Dunn's River is the busiest attraction in Ocho Rios and possibly all of Jamaica. You have the option of staying in the salty waters where the cool river joins the Caribbean Sea or joining the other sure-footed visitors in scaling the falls. Take one of the small exits to the craft vendors if you start your climb and decide to stop in the middle.
  
  
• Dolphin Cove- Don't miss this performance as the dolphins are the primary attraction. You might even have the opportunity to swim with or, even better, kiss the amiable animals.
  
  However, Dolphin Cove offers so much more. The park is home to a wide variety of creatures, including parrots and the native Jamaican Iguana. Bring your swimwear because everyone enjoys swimming, not just dolphins.
