The Yaaman Adventure Park (formally the Prospect Plantation), has nature experiences for the entire family. Just what are some of these experiences? Letโ€™s look.

  1. Mud Buggies/ATVs - You will be able to explore 1,000 acres of land in your choice of off-roading mobile. You will need a towel, sunscreen, and money. It is advised that you wear old clothes for this experience as you will get muddy. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are also necessary, no slippers are allowed. This experience lasts on average 45 minutes.

    Children 6-12 must be accompanied by a paying adult and a driverโ€™s license is required to operate the motorised vehicles. The ATV/Mud Buggy tour is physically demanding and not suitable for people with a heart, neck, back or any physical condition.

  2. Zipline - This journey through the sky can be done by everyone 5 years and older. The 7 line zipline takes you across the expansive and beautiful Yaaman property. The zipline adventure also includes a swing bridge and suspended platforms. You will need a T-shirt, shorts or pants and comfortable shoes. This experience will last between 45 to 60 minutes.

  3. Secret Blue Hole - The jitney ride will take you to the secret blue hole where you can take a relaxing moment in the water and enjoy the sound of nature surrounding you. A paying adult must accompany children up to 12 years. The trip to the Blue Hole is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  4. Cooking Tour - You can leave your vacation with culinary skills unlocked after an hour and 15 minutes with a Jamaican chef in the Sea View Kitchen. The chef will lead the class in making Jamaican classics, Jerk Chicken, Festival and Steamed Callaloo. It is great for friends or families as children from 10 and up are allowed to join. There is limited space, so if this is an experience you would love to have, it is best to book early.

  5. Jitney Ride - The Jitney Ride will give you panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, and take you through the Yaaman farms where you will see tropical crops such as sugar cane, coffee, peppers, cassava and bananas. On this ride, you will also get to learn more about Yaaman and how the park began. The Great House still stands and houses the world's largest collection of tortoise shells. Children ages 1 to 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult and children ages 1-3 are free.

  6. ๏ปฟBird Aviary - ๏ปฟThe bird aviary is a close-up of intelligent birds who play an essential role in ensuring the flora and fauna on the property flourish. This activity offers cultural knowledge, nature sensitivity, and love for these beautiful birds. It is also included in all the experiences and packages and should last just around 15 minutes.

Photo memories from each experience and souvenirs can be purchased afterwards. Pregnant women are not allowed on these tours, these excursions are also not wheelchair accessible.

There are different combinations of activities in each package and you will often get a deal on multiple attractions at Yaaman. These are the most common packages.

You donโ€™t have to take packages if there is only one activity you are interested in.

Recommendations and Additional Information

You will need a towel, a washrag, a change of clothes, sunscreen, mosquito repellant and cash. It is not advised that you bring valuables or wear jewellery on this trip.

Lockers are available for rent and it is necessary to sign a waiver to have these experiences. Since you will be so busy having fun, you might miss some photos, they are available for purchase afterwards.

Is a Reservation required for Yaaman Tours?

Yes, you need to make a reservation up to the day of your trip. Patrons are admitted up to 2 hours before closing time.

Reservations can be made via their website or telephone, you will need to leave a phone number, name, date and estimated time of your arrival.

How much does Yaaman Tours Cost?

The activities and packages all have different costs attached to them but on average it costs USD 80 to 150 dollars per person. It is best to check their website or call, for the specific excursion you are inquiring about.
