Portland is home to some of the most beautiful, naturally occurring wonders and it is all kept in its undisturbed state as much as possible.

Actually, this is another pull that Portland has over the many visitors it has each year, it manages to be beautiful and inviting without the ostentatiousness of larger towns and cities like Montego Bay and Kingston.

Of course, there is always room for an exciting vacation in the resort towns. But if you truly would love to unwind and reconnect with family, friends or even yourself surrounded by nature, then Portland is the place effortlessly accomplish that.

There aren’t any all-inclusive resorts in Portland. However, there are mainly eco-friendly lodgings, guest houses, villas and so forth. But there are a few hotels in the mix as well, let’s explore the latter.

1. Jamaica Palace

This 18th Century inspired boutique hotel overlooks the Turtle Harbour in Portland, Jamaica. Whether you are trying to unwind solo, as a couple or with your entire family, the Jamaica Palace caters to all.

  • Jamaica pool
  • Lush gardens
  • Free Parking

There are 3 restaurants and 4 bars open seasonally for dining options. There is a surcharge per room per night for security and incidental damages which is refunded at the end of your stay barring all unfortunate circumstances.

Rooms and Suites

There are four bedroom accommodation types at Jamaica Palace; the Royal Suite, Standard Deluxe, Suite and Junior Suite. All rooms only accommodate 2 persons (two adults or an adult and a child) but may be permitted an additional two persons for an extra cost.

All rooms have the same amenities, American or Continental breakfast, 42-inch flat-screen smart tv, closet, blow dryer, ironing board and iron (upon request), complimentary toiletries and Daily Maid Services. The mini-bar however is only included in all-inclusive bookings.

While there isn’t much for entertainment on the property, the location of the hotel is in proximity to the most romantic coves, beaches and attractions Port Antonio has to offer.

2. Pimento Lodge Resort

This family-run boutique resort is located near Long Bay Beach in Portland. They offer their rooms and suites on a room-only, bed and breakfast or half-board basis. Which gives you full autonomy over your vacation.

If you are planning to be out and about in Portland, then you really would need a place to sleep, or you could get the bed and breakfast option to eliminate the need to find a breakfast spot or if you are only spending the night and the morning.

For half-board, at least one meal is provided by the hotel each day you’re there. For your travelling expeditions through Portland, you might need a driver. Pimento Lodge is willing to arrange this for you, but it is not complimentary.

Wi-Fi access is not as reliable at this hotel as it is only available in the communal areas. So, if you need access to the internet, which will not be enough, you might have to explore other options.

Rooms and Suites

They have three room options Deluxe, Superior and Superior plus. Additional beds can be put into the Deluxe and Superior rooms for large families and Superior Plus guests have access to the pool via a private entry point.

For groups of 25, you can also consider renting the entire property, for additional privacy.

3. Trident Hotel

The Jamaican Riviera is perfect for a secluded vacation on Jamaica’s beautiful northeast coast. The Trident Hotel is a collection of 11 villas spread across 10 acres of land overlooking the stunning Caribbean Sea.

Dining

There are two restaurants and a bar on the property as well as a room service menu available 24 hours daily. You can also coordinate private dinners for special occasions.

Rooms

Their rooms and suites have different accommodation capacities from 1 to three bedrooms, living room(s), outdoor spaces, pool access and multiple other in-room amenities. Some also include a wet bar and have varying views of the 10-acre property from the gardens to the sea.
