US Embassy Jamaica
It's functions and services

The US Embassy Jamaica

US embassy jamaica

The primary function of the American Embassy in Jamaica is to service the interests of the American government. A secondary function is to serve the interests of its citizens here in Jamaica.

They answer queries and provide documents and visas for travellers to the USA, with preferences given to their citizens. The embassy may also gather information of any kind that may be of service to the USA.

The head of the embassy is the standing US Ambassador, who represents the American government and advises the wishes of the USA to the Jamaican government.

It is said that the embassy is like a mini nation (as represents one), and needs to be fully functioning. It has its own security and economic department, in addition to travel agency etc.

It is also worth noting that on the embassy grounds, the laws of the USA applies and not the laws of Jamaica.

The embassy is currently located at 142 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6. There telephone number is / fax, (876) 702-6348. They are usually openend Mondays - Fridays from 7:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The address for the Embassy in Jamaica is http://kingston.usembassy.gov, however you may also follow the links below for more specific and direct information.
